  • ID Fish and Game Nature Center

    Learn all about bees, the critters responsible for pollinating much of the food we eat. Observe the honeybee hive in the nature center. Attend a short lecture on bees and learn which bees are social and which are solitary. Capture and record sightings of bumble bees found at the nature center. Learn how to get your students involved in the Pacific Northwest Bumble Bee Atlas (for spring/summer 2024). Receive a Google sites link with bee lessons and activities.

  • Idaho Botanical Garden

    Participants for this “workshop on the move” at IBG will experience our 15-acre living museum through a short tour, practice strategies to engage learners in new ways with STEAM curriculum, and learn about amazing plant and animal adaptations for the shrub-steppe ecosystem. 1-3 PM

    The World Center for Birds of Prey, located in Boise, Idaho, is the headquarters of The Peregrine Fund. The campus houses our administration building, breeding facilities for critically endangered species, the Archives of Falconry, Velma Morrison Interpretive Center, and trails through the sagebrush steppe overlooking Boise and the Owyhee Mountains.

    Do the Math - Save a Life This field trip will educate math and science teachers about how math and science are used at Idaho Transportation Department to save lives. Participants will learn about open source data science lessons developed by Idaho Algebra 1 teachers with ITD staff. The lessons are designed to provide high school freshman opportunities to explore the ITD crash data dashboard.

    First Green is an innovative environmental and STEM education outreach program using golf courses as environmental learning labs. Golf Course Superintendents and/or local golf course representatives host students on field trips where students can test water quality, collect soil samples, identify plants, design plantings, assist in stream bed restoration, and be involved in the ecology and environmental aspects of the golf course.

    This field trip will focus on climate science activities for your classroom. Visit The WaterShed to hear about our transformation to a water and climate science center. Take a quick tour of the education center or water renewal facility (your choice) to learn about our resources for teachers. We’ll also present several hands-on climate activities related to greenhouse gases that can be replicated in the classroom. Participants will take home a Project WET Climate, Water and Resilience curriculum
