Project WET Goes to the Zoo! (In-Person)

Learn about water and wildlife conservation with Project WET and Zoo Boise! In this hands-on workshop, we'll investigate what all living things need - water - and how humans can reduce their impact on the environment. Using standards-aligned Project WET curriculum, we’ll explore the water cycle, water use around the world, and human impacts to water and wildlife. Plus, make enrichment for a Zoo resident and get the scoop on conservation projects around the world!

Wildfires, Water and Climate, Oh My!
2-credit Hybrid option: May 18-June 30, 2021, with in-person field experiences on June 16-17, and required zoom sessions on May 18 and June 8 at 7 pm (MTN). Field experiences at Boise WaterShed and Idaho Center for Outdoor Education (Idaho City). $50 workshop fee. Optional credits available from choice of BSU or NNU, $60/credit = $120.

Build your understanding of key concepts, content and connections among wildfires, water and climate. Increase your climate literacy to better understand and communicate about these topics. Discover how and why earth’s climate is changing, how it impacts our global and local natural resources, and what community solutions are possible to mitigate climate change. Virtual course will focus on content. Field experiences will build on that knowledge and focus on teaching these topics to 4th-12th grade students and adults. IDAH2O Master Water Stewards Workshop (In-Person)
Friday, July 16, 2021, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Boise WaterShed
The IDAH2O program trains citizen volunteers to monitor water quality in local streams. The workshop includes a 3-hour classroom session (a virtual option is also available) and a 4-hour hands-on field session in the stream. Learn about habitat, biological, chemical and physical stream assessments. Teachers may use IDAH2O protocol in K-12 classrooms and will receive a Project WET curriculum guide. Fee $40; 1 PD credit for an additional $60. Bring your own lunch; light snacks available.
